4xblu received a massive haul of twenty titles from Germany, England, and Hong Kong today, including a pair of new additions to the shop’s inventory: Arrow’s Blu-ray of Joe Dante’s “Matinee” and Maria Bava’s “Black Sabbath.”
Of the eighteen restocks, six of them were from Hong Kong, with a quartet of those (“Election,” “Election 2,” “Sparrow,” and “Office”) directed by Johnnie To. The other two non-To titles were Frederick Wiseman’s “Crazy Horse” and Jose Padilha’s “Elite Squad.” The German restocks were King Vidor’s Kirk Douglas-starring western “Man Without A Star” and Stanley Donen’s original “Bedazzled.”
As for the ten remaining restocks, seven were Arrow Video titles: Woody Allen’s “Bananas” and “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask,” Jules Dassin’s “Brute Force” and “The Naked City,” Joe Dante’s “The ‘Burbs,” “Bound” by the Wachowskis, and “The Firemen’s Ball” by Milos Forman. As for the non-Arrow UK restocks, the shop received Sam Peckinpah’s “Cross of Iron,” Philip D’Antoni’s “The Seven-Ups,” and Abel Ferrara’s “Pasolini.” Whew… something for everyone!
