A trio of titles has been added to the shop’s online inventory, consisting of Peter Greenaway’s “The Belly of an Architect” and “A Zed & Two Noughts” plus Otto Preminger’s “The Cardinal.”

“It would be too close to the bone, obviously, to make a film about a filmmaker, so at the back of my mind I have been searching for some time to find an appropriate parallel,” Peter Greenaway said about the subject of his third mainstream feature film, “The Belly of an Architect,” a picture where an American architect (played by Brian Dennehy) whose renown has not resulted in commercial success goes to Italy for a celebration one of his influences, a 19th century architect who, also, is acclaimed for the quality of his designs despite the fact that few of them were actually ever built. It’s a situation that “[seems] to be so symptomatic of filmmaking. So many films exist only on paper. I have 15-20 scripts in various stages of development and have no doubt that most of them will not be made.”
