The shop received a bumper crop of titles today, as packages from the UK, Spain, and Germany contained a whopping nine titles, seven of which are new additions to the shop’s inventory. Among these debuts are four titles helmed by directors who will be gracing 4xblu’s shelves for the first time: Spain’s Pedro Almodovar (“Bad Education”) and Luis Garcia Berlanga (“Placido”), Lav Diaz of the Philippines (“Norte, the End of History”), and Dziga Vertov (“‘Man With A Movie Camera’ and Other Works”) of what was, during his heyday, the Soviet Union.
Other new additions include Carlos Saura’s “Ana and the Wolves,” David Lean’s “Ryan’s Daughter,” and Alejandro Amenabar’s “The Sea Inside.” Rounding out today’s arrivals are restocks of King Vidor’s “Man Without A Star” and the Coen brothers’ ever-popular “Barton Fink.”
