An exciting bundle of titles from the UK and Germany arrived today, headlined by the debut of “Chicken Run.” Directed by Aardman Animation’s Peter Lord and Nick Park, this stop motion animated film that brings to mind everything from “The Great Escape” to “Hogan’s Heroes” remains M.I.A. on Blu-ray in the U.S., which is why 4xblu is happy to offer the English friendly (and Region A compatible) German edition.
Also in tow is a quartet of restocks that includes a deluxe German edition of Fritz Lang’s “M” that was released after the respective American and UK editions put out by Criterion and Masters of Cinema. Around the time of its release Home Theater Forum’s Robert Harris posted a comprehensive look at the German edition here, recommending this edition to those “who desire to get as close as possible to the original.”
