Today’s lone arrival is “The ‘Burbs,” the third title by director Joe Dante to join the shop’s inventory. Dante’s “Matinee” and “Small Soldiers” have already graced 4xblu’s shelves, and their popularity was certainly a factor in the decision to add this release.
This edition of “The ‘Burbs” by Arrow is not only chock full of bonus features, but it also features a director approved transfer that was not used on other international releases of the film. Although “The ‘Burbs” was among a group of titles announced for a Best Buy exclusive release in late May, that domestic edition’s $10 price point has led many to suspect that it will almost certainly pale in comparison and that this Arrow version will remain the definitive release.
