A couple of packages from Germany and Hong Kong came in the mail today that contained a pair of new additions and a quartet of restocks. Both debuts are titles from directors who are well represented on the shop’s shelves: “PTU” by Johnnie To (who already had a half-dozen titles in stock) and “My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done” by Werner Herzog (whose “Invincible” and BFI’s bountiful Herzog box set are currently on 4xblu’s shelves).
As for the restocks, Jose Padilha’s “Elite Squad” and James Gray’s “The Yards” make their belated returns alongside the first “One-Armed Swordsman” movie and Frederick Wiseman’s “Crazy Horse,” in which the acclaimed documentarian tackles the famed Parisian burlesque show.
