Just one arrival today, a restock of Bernardo Bertolucci’s “Before the Revolution.” It’s one of two Bertolucci titles that the shop has carried, with the director’s May of ’68 homage “The Dreamers” awaiting re-order. “Before the Revolution”‘s male lead is Fabrizio, a self-serious child of the bourgeoisie who parrots the Marxist rhetoric of his mentor Cesare. The film takes place during the span between his days as a chin-stroking campus radical and the point at which he’s expected to submit to convention and settle into his privileged place among Parma’s upper crust.
