Today’s mail featured an eclectic selection of titles. Among the three new Australian additions to the shop’s inventory are: a bodybuilding documentary (“Pumping Iron” by George Butler and Robert Fiore”), a Hammer film starring Bette Davis (Seth Holt’s “The Nanny”), and Gus Van Sant’s (in)famous remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho.”
Speaking of remakes, today’s fourth Australian arrival is the Rutger Hauer starrer “Blind Fury,” which is supposedly based loosely on one of the Zatoichi movies. Rounding out today’s haul are Michael Powell’s “The Edge of the World” and Kenneth Anger’s Magick Lantern Cycle, two utterly original works.
