Today’s online store slate is comprised of two of the French titles that came in today’s mail, Max Ophüls’s “(The Earrings of) Madame de…” and Jacques Demy’s “3 Seats for the 26th,” along with one of the Australian arrivals from Monday, Tom Savini’s 1990 remake of “Night of the Living Dead.” Now, some of you might be saying, “Wait, wasn’t that given a 4k remaster and released in the U.S.?” And you’d be correct. This title was remastered and given a domestic release by Twilight Time that has since sold out. However, as is seemingly so often the case these days, a segment of the film’s devotees were not fans of the new version’s color timing. That’s why the Australian disc, which is taken from an older master employing the color scheme that these fans know and love, has become a version worth making available at the shop.
