A trio of titles came into the shop today, including a restock of Lotte Reiniger’s “The Adventures of Prince Achmed” and two debuts: Philip D’Antoni’s “The Seven-Ups” and Sarah Polley’s “Stories We Tell.” With “Stories We Tell,” Polley — who began her career as a child actor before becoming an Oscar-nominated writer and director — created a film that was welcomed by considerable critical acclaim, only to have its campaign to win an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature derailed by controversy surrounding the picture’s blurring of fact and fiction.
