The shop received bundles of both the software and hardware variety today. Among the former are a trio of titles from France: Michael Powell’s “49th Parallel,” Abel Ferrara’s “China Girl,” and Brian De Palma’s “Body Double.” The latter is represented by the LG BP155, which serves as the shop’s designated “I don’t care about 3D or streaming; I just want to watch non-Region A compatible discs” player. The 155 doesn’t even have Wi-Fi, so apparently doing a firmware update requires downloading the code to a Flash drive and inserting it into the player’s USB drive. That said, due to its considerably lower price the 155 typically sells more units than the models representing the shop’s other two tiers of players combined.
