Today saw the arrival of two of the most anticipated titles in the shop’s history, Andrei Tarkovsky’s “Andrei Rublev” and “Mirror.” While, granted, some of the anticipation was due to these discs’ being a long time coming (their release dates were pushed back multiple times), it is mostly because of Tarkovsky’s status as one of the most revered filmmakers of all time, a true cinematic poet whose art is as fearless as it is breathtaking in its virtuosity.
